Why should I work with a trainer to prepare for the Camino d Santiago?

The Camino involves walking mileage that most people aren’t accustomed to doing. A certified personal trainer can develop a training program that helps you prepare for the physical and mental challenge of long-distance, multi-day hiking.

By training for this experience, you’ll get gain strength and stamina, as well as confidence so you can make the most of it. You’ll also reduce your risk of injury by strengthening your muscles and getting your body accustomed to the level of effort you’ll be putting in during the hike.

My style is to partner with you to help you reach their goals. I do this by collaborating with you to:

There’s lots of free information online about how to prepare for a long-distance walk – why should I pay for a trainer?

Yep, there’s a ton of information out there – it can be conflicting and confusing, and it may not be backed by proof. You can spend hours trying to sort it all out, and then figuring out how you’re going to actually do it is a whole other exercise (literally and figuratively).

I’ll help you focus on what will work best for you – which means you’re far more likely to enjoy it AND stick with it!
